Gay Marriage Like it or Hate it ???

September 04 2006

There are lots of diffrent views on Gay marriage. I would to know how ya'll feel aboutthis subject.

Ok for those who want my opinion here its. I think gay marriage is very wrong and hate it with a passion. I dont understand how someone could like the same sex. Its just wrong. It clearly explains in the bible that its wrong. Isnt that what happen to sodom and gommorah ??? It just disgust me to see in movies people of the same sex kissing each other or even in real life people holding hands its pretty gross.

Okay. Just to be totally contrary, I'm going to say that ultimately, I dont care. If there was ever a ballot passed around that asked if I supported or opposed it, agreed or disagreed, I would vote against it. Do I think it is wrong? Yeah, I really do. Do I think that it is something the government should have a say over? Not really. The minute that gay marriage becomes outlawed is the moment that America as a nation (as opposed to individual Americans) becomes a liar and we are no longer about what we claim to be.

i am for gay marrige, im not gay myself and get discusted by two men kissing. But i still think to marry the one you love is a beautiful thing. If these people want that, why would you stop them? it is not like its gonna end civilization or gonna hurt you, its only that its something u are not used to. for wich ur scared. fear of the unknown, fear of the change is limiting our mind. If you hold so dear to the old traditions why dont you walk on water yourself? if your a true believer, why post on this site and not pray? i do not believe in god!

God gave us women. Like them they don't have hairy legs (unless you go to like Aferica). And why don't you post your opinion.

Ok here is what I have to say...it might be wrong but its how I feel. I personally don't think that gay relations are what God intended. Yet I also don't believe that the government should be allowed to tell someone who they can love and who they can't.

Well, I am sure glad most of you aren't the law makers. However, some of you do vote, which scares me. Who cares if gays get married? It isn't going to affect ANYONE. They will simply be living together and gaining the rights that people who live together (and get married as a committed couple) receive. All it can do is benefit the economy, stop some discrimination, and provide more loving homes for children who have no one to love them. There is nothing morally wrong with people because they are gay. They are not choosing to be gay. That is just the way they are- just like heterosexuals. It is certainly biological. Why would anyone want to choose a life where they will be rejected by other people based on their love life? The only way most people would do this is if they had no choice- they are really GAY and they can't do a damn thing about it. Also, this nation was NOT founded on Christianity. Jefferson and Franklin, to name a couple, were DEISTS. This means they thought there was a god that created the world and then let the world do what it was going to do- they thought him to be uninvolved in human affairs. This would not be the Christian god. Do some research before you make these silly assumptions. The whole "under god" part of the pledge wasn't even there until the 1950's! That is certainly not when america started. Religion should be kept separate from politics. Otherwise, you end up with another iraq where the government controls what everyone believes and does. You don't believe the way the government does? Okay- you die. And you might think that is ok if you are Christian, but I ask you how many different way of practicing Christianity are there? You don't want someone pushing their beliefs on you, so don't push your beliefs on them. America was founded to have freedom of religion, which includes freedom FROM religion. I think it is important we uphold this. The decision on gay marriage is a legal one. It should be allowed. Let's pass the law and move on. There are certainly more important issues here that are being ignored while gay marriage is being paraded about as a distraction. Gay marriage will not affect you at all. People that are gay will still be gay, people that are heterosexual will still be heterosexual. No one is going to turn gay because marriage is allowed all of a sudden. It will simply allow people that live in this country and contribute like most everyone else, to have the rights they deserve.

Simply put, the real debate here is over whether or not government has a right to define marriage. As it turns out, government does have the right to define marriage and the overwhelming opinion is to maintain the traditional marriage. And to every mindless poster who writes about how "you should be able to be marry whoever you want", just don't post. You can't marry whoever you want. You can't marry a relative. You can't marry more than one person. You can't marry someone who is already married. I declae this debate over.

Here we go again... Okay... I might feel even more vehemently about this one than abortion. Love knows no bounds. Considering that most marriages [yeah, even heterosexual Christian ones] end in divorce, what gives anyone the right to forbid others?? If you're against gay marriage, don't have one, and shut up. Unfortunately, I'm late, and cannot digress further.

Kelly took my exact thoughts with "here we go again". I don't feel exactly as Graham does, but almost. Because of my faith I do believe it is wrong. Now, unlike abortion, I cannot point to any scientific evidence to convince someone who does not have my values to agree with me. However, I do think one should wonder what the point of a couple that cannot reproduce for biological reasons (and not b/c of infertility) should get married. But I can honestly say that apart from my faith, I have very little argument for it. And I'm gonna leave it at that.

i personally think it is very wrong and disgusting, but i am not going to discriminate someone for being gay.

I'm not for it, I can't explain it, and It's not how i would choose to live my life. but that isn't gonna stop me from loving my friends that have chose that lifestyle. I support them, but not necessarily their decision

Honestly man, who cares whether a guy and a guy get married? To say that it'd be defacing the snctity of marriage is fairly ignorant. Aren't atheists allowed to marry? So how is this any different? Not only that but we DO live in a country that is governed by a set of documents and ideals that, while they may typically compliment Biblical teaching, promote that which is in and of itself directly from God and is fundametally integral to our worship of Him: Freedom. And if it's not hurting me, and it's not hurting them, then there is NO basis for any law against it. Despite the fact that homosexuality is sin. And gay.

i believe that being gay is a choise that a person makes andi believe that it is wrong and its a sin and thats were i stand and i am not going to try to change someones desition because i think it is wrong but i will tell them why i believe it is wrong and leave it that

hey man i dont really know you but i do know that if you are a christian that you should never say that you hate something while i do agree with you as christians we ahould love and not hate regardless of what we think we should always love God has always loved the sinner but hated the sin so we should copy christ and love the world "hate the game not the player" you know so from christian to christian tone the anger down and you will be able to reach more unbelievers more successfully so love god and love people!!

thus leading to my point that christian ppl are hypocrits because they preach being tolerant and loving of other people but they aren't themselves.

OK Sam. Marriage has always been outlawed in America. If it had not been there would not be controversy.

Karissa, I don't think you can have freedom from religion and freedom of religion. it would be like taking away our suppy of air and telling us we can breathe. I have done alot of studying on our founding fathers and this country was founded on Christianity and our founding fathers were very strong in their faith. Yes, there were some who were not chrisians, but the majority were. No assumptions, trust me I have done much research. Jefferson himsellf said "I am a real christian, that is tos say, a disciple of the doctrines of Jesus." found in the "Writing of Thomas Jefferson Vol xiv p.385 Benjamin Franklin said, "History will afford frequent opportunities of showing the necessity of a public religion... and the excellency of the Christian religion above all others, ancient or modern." Found in "Proposals Relating to the education of Youth in Pennsylvania" page 22 The reason Christianity works so well for America is because God does not force himself on anyone. As a person you have a choice to choose Christ or reject Him. That is real freedom. And that is why our founding fathers realized that is the greatest foundation to build a nation on. I also believe that gay marriage does harm people. It harms the immediate family the most, you know parents, brothers, sisters, grandparents. I believe that children need a mother and a father. What we need is an emphasis on bringing families together and showing them the love of christ. That is what children need most. Have a good day.
