October 13 2005
School makes me yawn.

A lot.

Question

October 08 2005
Does anyone know if we have school on monday?

I've heard several people from other school systems talking about getting Colombus Day off.

Do we have Colombus Day off?

Grass smells pretty.

October 04 2005

I turned off the air conditioner and opened the windows.

Good move. ^_^

The air smells lovely. And it's not mucho cold. It's light, warm, and breezy.

Well, my room is a piece of work. I'm going to have to finish it tonight or tomorrow.

Probably tomorrow, seeing as how my cleaning method consists of setting my Windows Media Player on random repeat all, turn it up as loud as I can, and then storm back and forth from room to room until everything is clean.

But anyways.

My room is a wreck. *eye roll* Big surprise there.

My bathroom... I've pretty much got it clean. But I'm still smelling this mildewy stench and I can't figure out where it's coming from. And I cannot find a single air freshener or scented candle in the ENTIRE HOUSE. Omg. Maybe it will go away when I mop with the orange cleaner. That stuff smells good.

Mmmm.

Who needs spring cleaning?

Early-fall cleaning is way better.

MMM. Fazoli's in half an hour or so. Can't wait. I'm dying of hunger over here.

The Meme is over. And I am hungry.

I like your jersey.

September 29 2005

Hey, just in case you were wondering... I'm cooler than you.

Went to the Predators game today [against Atlanta Thrashers.]  We lost.  We lost like WOAH.  [5-2]  For a while Susan and I suspected that Jordin Tootoo had gotten sent back to Miluwakee to play another season in the AHL because he didn't play but his name wasn't on the scratch list.  But that's okay.

Susan and I were like, "This is crap."  So we left early.  We had Daelin [Susan's son] with us in his stroller, so we had to walk around the elevators.  The first one that came was full.  So we waited.  And waited.  And waited some more.  Finally, I said, "Holy crap.  There's only four freakin' floors in this building.  How can it possibly take an elevator this long?"

An elevator finally arrived.  The door opened.  And my I said a very rude word in my brain.  Several of them, in fact.  Standing in the back of the elevator in this gorgeous pinstripe suit... was Jordin Tootoo.

omg... hott.

Yes, that would be that sexy beast right there.

I tried to not do the crazy-stalker-fan-girl thing.  It was very hard, to be honest.  I was wearing my jersey, my most obvious piece of I'm-a-crazy-stalker-fan-girl-evidence, so I was trying to be discreet.  However, he saw I was wearing it and he looked at the sleeve to check the number.

"I like your jersey."

*shudder*

Ooookay, so maybe I'm the only person in the world who thinks a thick Canadian accent is sexy.  Shut up.

Anyways, I responded with the oh-so-witty, "Yeah, I don't know whose it is, just some guy or another..."

HE LAUGHED!  He thought my joke was funny!

Alrighty.  Friday last week:  I bump into him [physically] while he's taking donations in the lobby.  Less than a week later, I happen to be about 5 inches away from him in an elevator.  He compliments my jersey.  Pretty sure that no matter how shy and embarassed I was, there was no way I could ignore a direct sign from GOD.

*dances*

I got my jersey signed!!!

What's great about it, though, is that it's an old jersey - it has the number 55 on it.  He plays under number 14 now.  He signed the 55 jersey, "Jordin Tootoo #14."

It makes me laugh.

Mmmmmm....

Who cares if we lost like woah?

vita, mi amici, est plena rerum difficilium.

I think I got the grammar of "friends" right...

I think.

*scratches head*

Anwyways. Yeah. Thought I'd share.

Why my Dad is WAY cooler than yours.

September 28 2005

It's true. My dad is cooler than yours.

I wasted time ALLLLLL 6 weeks long and now I'm trailing along at the end with two F's that I am desperately trying to at least convert to C's even though my teachers should totally give me F's because that's what I deserve.

What's my Dad's take on all this?

"You look sleepy. Why don't you take a nap before you start your homework. Are you hungry? What do you want? Okay, I'll go get that for you. Oh yeah, I got you a pint of your favorite ice cream, it's in the freezer..."

And it goes on.

Lordy, there are days when I appreciate being an only-daughter. Heck, except for when my brother begs money to pay off a utility bill or fill up his girlfriend's gas tank or buy food every few months or so, I'm almost like an only child.

Crrrazy.

*yawn*

Alright. Sleepy-time over. Physics time now.

...

Poo.

September 27 2005

Awfully early in the week to try an all-nighter, don't you think? Well, more like a most-of-the-nighter. I don't think I could live through school tomorrow without having gotten at least two or three hours of sleep.

But then again, you never know. We are approaching fall break, and Patriot Parade is on Friday... the load might be easy enough that I could manage.

Haha, YEAH RIGHT.

In any case... tomorrow is gonna suck. Just like every other school day in this year.

*drawing a blank*

September 25 2005

I really don't know what's going to happen.

There's a good chance both of my teachers will be like, "Hell no, we're not letting you make up all that work AFTER the six weeks is over!" In fact, I'd like to bet $10 on that.

And if they do say that... there's gonna be a whole hell of a lot of consequences. From:

  • My dad. He hasn't really had to *punish* me for anything I did wrong since I was about three years old.
  • My mom... maybe. She's weird. I think she wants to play "good cop" right now.
  • Mark. He may put me up for demotion.
  • Colonel. May demote me whether Mark puts me up for it or not. Also might take away my platoon.
  • Mr. Klaus. He'll just stare at me and say, "Sarah... wtf?"

Not to mention it'll leave a nice gash on my GPA. Even if I make 100's on my next six weeks and my final, I'll still only be able to make B's for the semester [barely]. And that's not likely at all.

People punish themselves in weird ways. I don't do drugs or cut or anything... I just don't do my homework.

ARGH! This wonky-teenage-emotial-thought-block-thingy is really starting to annoy me. I don't understand myself. If I did, it might be easier to get myself to start working again.

Hmm. Thats funny. Why do I feel so rested?

September 23 2005

. . .

Because it's a quarter to ten.

And I just woke up.

Is it the weekend or something?

. . .

Nope.

Damn.

Hey, guess what!

September 21 2005

I'M GOING TO QUIT MY JOB!!!

Ahhhh.

That's better.

Other AD employees who read this, please note: I haven't informed our bosses yet. I should be doing that tomorrow or whenever they call me after I sent them the dental excuse note from my appointment last week. So anyways, please don't bring it up in front of them until I've talked to them.

^_^

Thinking about dropping APUSH and taking Honors Histroy next year, but my dad is encouraging me to stay in AP. I probably will stay, but I think everything will get a whole lot easier when I don't have a job anymore.

Girl Lessons. I need them, thats why.

September 20 2005
My Granny dragged me out to her friend Cindy's house this evening. [Cindy is a former professional cosmetology-esque person.] Cindy gave me a little crash course on how to properly apply makeup and even printed up a little walk-through for me to take home.

Shut up. I must have missed that day at school when they said, "Okay, today's the day when we teach all the girls how to do their hair and makeup and hand out the free boobs." So I needed some help. Crazy bad.

Anyways, Cindy just talked me through it, I did it all myself. I even used my colorful stuff. Now, since I almost NEVER wear makeup, especially makeup that is a color other than nude or very very pale, I think I looked kind of freakish.

You know, in that hooker-that-lost-a-bar-fight kind of way.

But maybe that's just me. I've washed my face off and now I'm letting it dry. I'm going to try to use the same theory and methods to do lighter, less noticable colors and see how that works out for me.

In other news:

  • APUSH is the devil. I suggest a revolt. VIVA LA REVOLUTION!
  • Buy a candle. Because you love me.
  • Mr. Tackett won't let me out of Coach Schmeltzer's class. I'm torn between begging my dad to go into school to make them change it and just going with the easy grade.
  • I loves me some JROTC.

That is all. You are dismissed.

Another eventful day... or not.

September 19 2005
Gah. Why is it so impossible for me to work in the afternoons? I come home and I just turn into this... thing. This lazy not-worky thing. Oh well. Work has to be done some time. Guess I'll do it now.

Anywho.

Anyone want to support JROTC? We're selling some bitchin' candles. They're like the Yankee Candle Co. candles, only way less of a rip off.

You know you want one.

^_^

Apparently, today was International Talk Like a Pirate Day. Well, everyday is Talk Like a Pirate Day for me, but this was the international one. To celebrate, I leave you with this quizzy quiz.

My pirate name is:

Mad Mary Kidd

Every pirate is a little bit crazy. You, though, are more than just a little bit. Even though you're not always the traditional swaggering gallant, your steadiness and planning make you a fine, reliable pirate. Arr!

Get your own pirate name from fidius.org.

PATRIOTS OF THE CARIBBEAN

September 16 2005

If you weren't there, you missed out.

Missed out like woah.

Now I'm sleepy. Sorry that I'm too tired to make a real update, but I do have to be at work in... 8 or 9 hours.

Ciao, darlings.

*squeal*

September 16 2005

FIRST PREDATORS PRE-SEASON GAME IN ONE WEEK!

*squeal*

Homecoming today. Drive-In style showing of Pirates of the Caribbean on the softball field after the game. $3 to get in.

You should be there.

What do you do when all of your problems are your own fault?

September 14 2005

Me?

I stress until I pass out.

Or something equally useful and productive as that.

*eye roll*

And the winner of this round is...

THE WORLD!!!!

--dingdingding--

Sarah loses.

I know you wanna hit that...

September 13 2005

*sings*

she's saying / i'm on the run / i'm chasing guys for fun / her baby daddy / it ain't his only one / she's sayin' / i'm on the run / i'm chasin' guys for fun / i know you wanna hit that / i know you wanna HIT that HIT that

Offspring is goooood for your soul.

Especially when your soul is looking around the JROTC room on Raider practice day going, "Hot dammmmmmn."

Anyways. That was yesterday. Today I just have that song stuck in my head. Today was a whole lot of boring.

That Newlywed Game parody that OHS did... pretty darn lame. I mean, you have NO idea.

Variety show tomorrow. That's almost always good. I don't know about this year's, seeing as how our school went nucking FUTS and decided that our homecoming should be in early-mid September. Crackheads.

The advantage? We beat Siegel to the pirate theme!

"Patriots of the Caribbean"

Our t-shirts are AMAZING. [Well, the design is anyways. Won't get my shirt till tomorrow or the day after.]

And Friday, instead of the traditional homecoming dance - you can buy a ticket for a pizza dinner before the game and that same ticket will get you into a drive in presentation of Pirates of the Caribbean on our softball field.

How cool are we?

Yeah, that's right. Cooler than you.

No worries, I'm going to find out tomorrow if I can collect money and buy tickets for non-Oakland folks.

It's 7:15 and I'm hungry. You know what that means. FAZOLI'S TIME.

Cleaning.

September 11 2005

No seriously, I'm gonna do it.

Here I go.

Watch me.

. . .

No, seriously.

die, physics and latin!!!

September 10 2005

Well guess what I've gotten myself?

Grounded.

Fo sho.

No movie with Jane and Brad yesterday.

No zoo with my aunt and her kids, no memorial service for my friend's mom, no birthday party for Mady.

None of that stuff that I wanted to do today [even though there is no way I could have done ALL of those things].

I get to go to lunch wih my mom. Because she's my mom. But right now we're all sitting around on our butts waiting on someone to get out of the shower and someone else to get here. I'm hungry, dammit.

Well anyways.

Love, you guys.

I have the following to say to the entire idea of school in general:

September 07 2005

uhurm...

*sticks out tongue*

NEENER NEENER NEENER!

I didn't read chapters 4 or 5 of my Advanced Placement US History textbook. We had a quiz over it yesterday.

I got a 95.

As in ninety-five percent.

Yeah, that's right. I got an A.

Over college textbook material that I DIDN'T READ.

[[Do take note: I did study my friend Cassie's six pages of notes that covered both chapters and my friend Marshall's 1/2 page of notes that covered the first bit of chapter 4.]]

[[I wouldn't have bothered with Marshall's, except that he takes the most efficient notes I have ever seen in my life. Very very very descriptive, very very very concise.]]

But yeah. Pretty sure that a lot of other kids who actually spent hours studying and taking notes [open-note quiz] got C's or F's.

Just remember kids,

If I can do it, it's guaranteed that you can too.

Don't read the homework. Make A's without cheating.

Fight the system.

*oakland power fist*

Ummmmmmm. I'd like not to be arrested, plzthxverymuch.

September 06 2005

So I went to work today. No answer at the door, so I used my key to get in. The lights were off, so I turned them on. There appeared to be no one immediately around. [I have no clue who the two people working on the car in the driveway were, but they were gone by the time I next looked out the door.] The security system made it's little beepy noise it makes every time a door is opened.

It made it again.

And again.

And some more.

And started getting faster.

And then it turned into this really shrill whistly noise.

So I called my bosses' cell phone and left a long message saying, "Yeah, I came in... no one here... the house is trying to get me arrested... Guess I'll stick around and make sure no cops come by before I go home."

Then my phone says, "Surprise! You have a message from your boss. It says not to come in today."

Well yee friggin' haw.

When I went out the door, there didn't appear to be any SWAT team people ready to jump me and carry me off for interrogation, so I got in my car and came home.

But you know what this means, don't you...

SARAH HAS TIME TO DO HER HOMEWORK AND GO TO FAZOLI'S!!!

*is pleased with the response to her last entry*

September 04 2005

Anywho. This song came on when I set my media player to play every song on my computer on shuffle. And I thought to myself, "LYRICS TIME!!!"

"Strangelove" by Depeche Mode

There'll be times
When my crimes
Will seem almost unforgivable
I give in to sin
Because you have to make this life liveable
But when you think I've had enough
From your sea of love
I'll take more than another riverfull
And I'll make it all worthwhile
I'll make your heart smile

Strangelove
Strange highs and strange lows
Strangelove
That's how my love goes
Strangelove
Will you give it to me
Will you take the pain
I will give to you
Again and again
And will you return it

There'll be days
When I'll stray
I may appear to be
Constantly out of reach
I give in to sin
Because I like to practise what I preach
I'm not trying to say
I'll have it all my way
I'm always willing to learn
When you've got something to teach
And I'll make it all worthwhile
I'll make your heart smile

Pain will you return it
I'll say it again -- pain
Pain will you return it
I won't say it again

I give in
Again and again
I give in
Will you give it to me
I give in
I'll say it again
I give in

I give in
Again and again
I give in
That's how my love goes
I give in
I'll say it again
I give in

WOAH NELLY.

Lookit what I did.

Hmm. Wonder what else I can do... Alas. Experimenting will have to wait till tomorrow.

*is sad*

September 04 2005
Read back a bunch of posts from after the game on friday.

Not all OHS kids are mean or immature, thank you.

*coughMEcough*

I even threatened some of my best friends over the Siegel kids.

I even went to Steak 'n' Shake after the game with 10 or so Siegel kids.

So maybe if you could just tack a little footnote on the end of your "stupid oakland kids" post that says "but Sarah V. is okay" I'd feel better.

^_^

*funeral march plays*

September 02 2005

Well that's pretty much the end of OHS talking smack about SGH. Except of course, for the petty rednecks who can't accept that our rival school is, in fact, capable of winning a varsity football game.

OHS vs. SGH: 18-14, Siegel

Did I remember that score right? Or did Siegel score again? *shrug*

That's exactly why Mr. Tackett has been telling all of OHS ever since the stupid "Siegel's Garbage" thing got started that they need to focus on the positve points of Oakland, not the negative points of our opponents. Since all OHS had to say to SGH tonight is "Siegel's Garbage," they can't say anything after losing to them.

Ahh... stupid hillbillies. God help me, I love some of them.

Both teams played hard and it payed off [finally] for SGH. Both bands played very well. The Oakland band is so tiny and quiet! However, they are very good for their size and volume.

Congrats to Seigel!

Now... after seeing band kids from 3 of the 4 high schools in Murfreesboro and hanging at Steak 'n' Shake for two and a half hours, I am ready for bed.
