Question 5: Give me Privacy or Give Me Death?

November 14 2006
QUESTION 5:
How important is privacy to you when you are posting a blog entry, uploading photos, sharing content with friends, etc?

and an extra 20 points goes to the first person that can identify the person that said, "Give me liberty or give me death..."

Question 4: On an Island?

November 13 2006
I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend. Here is the next quesiton to answer if you have a few minutes:

QUESTION 4:
If you could only keep one feature on PhuseBox, what would they be (and why)?

example of features include blogging, photo uploading, messaging, finding friends, the friend digest, groups, etc. Please do not request new features; there will be a time for that.

Question 3: Read-a-Blog?

November 10 2006
I appreciate everyone's feedback from yesterday's question. I would like to remind everyone of a couple things though. When I set out to create PhuseBox, I did so with a couple "principles" in mind:

1. Be Innovative
2. Design Matters

Those two points drove the creation of PhuseBox and will drive the future of PhuseBox. I wanted to be an improvement over other social sites, not a copy. I could very easily make a replica of mySpace.com or some other social network site... but what would be the point? PhuseBox is all about being different, being innovative, and not letting the site look really bad with color schemes and massive image backgrounds that hurt your eyes when you try to read the text.

Also, I will be asking your opinions on what you would improve at a later date... so there will be time for that, but for now... today's question:

QUESTION 4
What do you mainly use to read other user's blogs: The Friend Digest or Visiting the User's Blog Page?

Question 3: Drop it?

November 09 2006
Again, thanks for everyone's answers to the questions... I appreciate it and it will help me as I build the next version. Today's question may be a little tougher:

QUESTION 3:
If you could (or had) to drop one feature from PhuseBox, what would it be and why?

thanks!

Question 2: What Do You Use?

November 08 2006
Thanks for all the great response on the question yesterday. It really helps to hear what you guys have to say. And now... If you would take a few seconds to answer the following question:

QUESTION 2:
What feature do you use most or appreciate most on PhuseBox?

Question 1: Why Do You Use It?

November 07 2006
Since I am diving head-first back into rebuilding the PhuseBox site, I would like to gain some perspective on what exactly makes PhuseBox what it is. So, in the next few weeks, I will be asking you some questions through this blog trying to get feedback on certain aspects of the site.

If you get a chance to take a moment and answer the questions, I would appreciate it.

QUESTION 1:
Why do you use PhuseBox?
(not "what do you use on PhuseBox" by why you use it - what is it that keeps you coming back?)

PhuseBox: The Next Chapter

November 06 2006
Today, I started laying the foundation for a complete re-build of PhuseBox. After thinking long a hard, I realized that the current site has seen little or no change in almost a whole year. I think, and many would agree, that PhuseBox needs a major facelift. It was a tough decision because it is definitely a huge committment of time, but I think the users on PhuseBox will appreciate a new "refueled" site.

So, there you have it. This will be the 3rd major "version" of the site and hopefully it will bring with it some brand new features and a much better interface including better photo management.

Life is going to get more interesting now.

PodPoint.net Launches

November 01 2006

Well, I finally launched today. Anyone that enjoys listening to Christian-oriented stuff should ... There is a ton of audio on the site from churches and Christian organizations from all over the country... If you check it out, let me know what you think.

People from Murfreesboro, TN may like to know that AO and Belle Aire weekly messages are on PodPoint.

PodPoint: I'm Excited

October 21 2006
Well, I have been working on for quite some time now... mostly over the last few months. And it is finally ready for launch.

PodPoint is a site I have developed to help churches and ministries easily manage a podcast. I am super excited about finally launching this site. It has been more than a year since the idea first sparked my mind and it will be good to finally see it launch.

So, the countdown is on... Wednesday, November 1st is the launch date... after that, I think I will make some improvements on PhuseBox...

Fresh Start

October 13 2006
Well, today I got my powerbook back with a new hard drive in it... a great upgrade from 80GB to 120GB... however, my data has still not been recoverable. I do have the old drive though, so maybe I will be able to recover some of it myself.

It is odd starting on a fresh install of the operating system... and with no old files to transfer over... it is much like moving into a new house... fresh, clean start.

Hopefully, this hard drive will make it at least until I need a new system... who knows when that will be.

Luckily all my website stuff was on my server so those files are intact... and my music collection is on my iPod, so those files are fine. Everything else is gone though... oh well... It happens. That's life. I have learned my lesson though: frequent backups can prevent many headaches...

All is lost... for now.

October 05 2006
I am sending my powerbook in to get the hard drive replaced... I am getting my damaged drive back, so maybe... perhaps... I will be able to rescue the data from it. I hear putting it in the freezer is suppose to help... That is, if it is a mechanical failure... which it is...

The hard drive clicks everytime it tries to boot... Not a good sign, but most of the data is usually recoverable.

Today, we got Sophia's halloween costume in the mail... and... yeah... it is way too small. When we tried it on, she just sat there because she could not move at all since it was so tight... Rach took a photo... she will probably post it on PhuseBox later...

Tonight is THE OFFICE and GREYS ANATOMY... yes. I watch both.

Speaking of TV, did anyone see the season premeire of LOST last night? Was anyone else highly disappointed like I was? ... anyone?

Not a Good Day for Nathan Moore

October 04 2006
I just got home about an hour ago and went upstairs to check my email and work on stuff like usual. And then... I found...

that my hard drive crashed today.

Moral of the story: make backups of your system regularly... because, I did not. And now, panic has set in.

Seriously... all my photos, music, photoshop docs, emails, ... everything... gone.

hmph. Not a good day.

A Dog, a Car, and a Goat

October 03 2006
Ok. So, just kidding about the goat... However, Rachael and I have two new additions to the family... numero uno is Sophia, our new dog... Check her out...

photo from rachael

Is that not such a good picture that Rach took of her?

And the other edition is our new car... However, I do not have photos of the car... so some photos of all of us in the car should suffice, no?

So we made a deal... Rachael got a dog, and I got a car... pretty fair deal don't you think?

We have fun.

Another Wedding

September 07 2006
My older sister is getting married on Saturday, making the second Moore family wedding in the past 6 months...

Over a month...

August 27 2006
Wow. It has been over a month since my last entry... I hope everyone is doing well. It is funny how being married and having a full time job will definitely chop your free time to do things such as blog...

Rach and I have been married for 3 months to-the-day... and it has been awesome. I love her and I love spending time with her. I also got a full time job at a marketing firm doing web design... very nice, and fun. so. I love it.

I am also working on several experimental side projects that should be interesting. hmmm...

All that to say, life is good. My older sister is getting married in a few weeks, and my little sister just started college at Belmont... all that AND, my family just recently moved to Clarksville... So, my wife and I are the lone Moores in Murfreesboro.

How is everyone else doing? hmmm?

Rachael's Birthday Bash Recap

June 23 2006
So, last night, we threw Rach a surprise birthday party. And, as always, the photo recap:

The group

There are more photos in my photo box. Happy Birthday, Rach.

Happy Birthday Rach!

June 22 2006
HAPPY 20th BIRTHDAY, RACHAEL!

Today is Rachael's birthday, so everyone that reads this should head over to and leave her a remark wishing her a happy birthday! Do it, even if you do not personally know her. She is the greatest. I promise.

Name Our Guinea Pig...

June 16 2006
So, I got Rachael a guinea pig for her birthday. However, for the past several days, this pet has been referred to as "guinea pig" or "the guinea pig." We are trying to find a name for her. Any suggestions?

Pure White female guinea pig... likes long walk around the cage... pellet food... looking for name. remark now.

Winding Down in NYC

May 17 2006
Well, I have come down to the last few days in New York City. My stuff is packed up in boxes (for the most part). My last day in the office at The Gallery Church was yesterday. I had my "fairwell" lunch with the staff and others today at Olive Garden. My dad is currently in New Jersey and will be here in about an hour. He is helping me move all my stuff back to Murfreesboro. I am hoping to spend some time with my dad tonight... My older sister bought us tickets to the Yankees game tonight... Hopefully, that will work out. Tomorrow, I have my last Leadership training day. Then, I head back to Murfreesboro.

I have Sarah's graduation on Saturday, then church on Sunday, and then it is time for the wedding planning intensive. Not to mention, trying to move all my stuff in the new apartment and getting all the utilities and stuff in my name.  Then, Friday, the rehersal. And then, Saturday, the wedding planning and stress will finally come to a close. Then the honeymoon in San Francisco. And then, June 1st, I will finally be able to sit down in my apartment with my wife and just sit. That's all I want to do... just sit, without any worries or stresses. just relax.

So, these next couple weeks will probably prove to be the busiest of my entire life. I am hoping that we do not encounter too many problems. But if we do, I hope that we just move past them... because all of this does not truly matter in the end.

Anyways, I know it has been a while since I posted last. I am going to try to keep up with my blog whenever things finally settle down a bit.

The one noticable difference from before I moved to New York City and now? Before the city, I was hooked on Friends, the television show, and the occational Seinfeld... Post-city, I am now regularly hooked on LOST, 24, Grey's Anatomy, The Office, Prison Break, and House MD. Sadly, all of the season finales are here.

Our Apartment

May 05 2006
Ok.

So for those that have not picked up on hints in my last post, I am moving back to Murfreesboro. Rachael and I decided that the best place to start out our marriage was near family and friends. So, near the end of May, I will be back in Murfreesboro for good (or at least a year).

Rach and I signed on our new apartment today. EXCITING! And so Rachael then decided to conquer the fireplace.

is she not the cutest gal?

Anyways, I head back to NYC tomorrow to wrap up things there before the move and then the wedding and then the honeymoon. I will be glad when June is finally here. Whew.

Fun with my Fiance

April 25 2006
So, I am back in Murfreesboro for a couple weeks. Surprise, surprise. Wedding planning is not fun. I promise. Avoid it at all cost. Seriously. Other than finding a career in politics, it will be the one time in your life that everyone tries to influence you in some way. It turns out to be everyone else's wedding, not yours.

But on an up-side, I think Rach and I found an apartment in Murfreesboro that we like. That's fun. We are going to go see it on Wednesday.

Already, I hhave had lots of fun hanging out with Rachael the last few days. As always, I gotta include the photo recap:

We went to the stones river... and threw rocks. We came up with a game... and sadly, I lost horribly.

It is almost like the famouse mirror-shot

Then, we went to the Stardust Drive-In... loads of fun. Although, Silent Hill is not really a good movie. Slow. Bad plot. Bad acting. etc. etc.

Last night, we fixed our own snow cones. mmmmmm...

That's all. Oh, and I hear that the Rutherford County School System finally blocked PhuseBox. That is sad news, but good news all at the same time. Sorry to those that can no longer get their PhuseBox fix at school...

Today: Empire State Building and Joshua Tree

April 13 2006
Today, after work, a couple of us decided to go over to our meeting space on 28th street... I was able to grab this shot of the Empire State Building with my camera phone from the 7th floor of the NYCAMS building... I am convinced that this is the best place to take a photo of the Empire State Building in the entire city... and it was SUCH a nice day.

photo from nathan

then we all went to one of my favorite restaurants in the city... Joshua Tree... mmmmmm...

Fun evening in the city.

Link of the Day

April 13 2006
When the United States goes to the moon, they study rock formations, bring back samples, take data on climate, etc...

When Europe goes to the moon, they want to plant flowers?!

Seriously guys... could your research and development money not be spent on something more revolutionary. You know, I hear they are still looking for a cure for cancer... Anyone? oh, sorry. I did not mean to disturb your gardening...
