i have tried TWICE this weekend to go see RENT but have failed miserably both times :( so i think i'm going to go see it some other time this week. hopefully.

update on my granddanny...he was doing better and was able to go back home, but my aunt (who's a nurse) was staying with him just in case. well, i just talked to my mom and she said they had to rush him back to st. thomas b/c they think he had a mini-stroke (TIA) but they aren't sure. so please please pray! holidays are not a good time for my family anyway...thanks guys!

that it's supposed to SNOW TONIGHT! now, we all know that this means we'll only get a few flurries, but even so! it's just preparing for the big snow that's going to happen later! ;) ;) i love december!

please pray for my grandfather...he was in intensive care last night
at st. thomas b/c of pnemonia and a bleeding ulcer in his throat. my
mom just informed me that he's being moved to a regular room today but
i'm still scared. he's in his 80's and already has health problems and
i just don't know if he will have the will or strength to fight. thanks
guys!

ok, so i'm going to brag for a moment 
i have started working out and it's been about 3 weeks now....and i
have lost a total of 7 pounds!! and not only that, but i am running
further and further everyday and for somebody who didn't used to be
able to run for even 3 minutes that's a big step! my new goal is to run
for 2 miles without walking or anything. well, today i ran for 1.8
miles!! 24 minutes straight! now, i know this is a slow 1.8 miles, but
still! AND i did this all without my asthma inhaler. which i have never
done before. i usually get an asthma attack after 5 minutes. which only
means that my cardiovascular system is improving! yay!!! so, hopefully
sometime next week i'll be able to hit 2 miles and can start aiming for
2 and a half! woohoo! i'm so proud of myself! spring break, here i
come!!!!!!!!!!

aww my little cassie is engaged!!! yay for her! and to be proposed to in aruba?! darin is going to have a hard time topping that for the honeymoon! ;) go to Cassie's Phusebox for pictures!

she definately tried to use the IP-relay thing but got disconnected after "hey it's cassie" so the woman kindly (or not so kindly...) told me that the use of relay for those other than deaf or blind people is illegal and that my phone # and cassie's IP had been tagged for fraudulent use. wah!? but then i spotted cassie on AIM and got the good news (which by this time i had guessed cuz i'm that good!) followed by an email with pictures. nice try with the relay cass, you just HAD to get disconnected huh? ;)

i just bought a cd with both the chanson de bilitis and les nuits d'ete on it! i know what i'm going to be listening to all day!!

my recital is finally over! after 8 months of preparing and stressing
over it, is has finally culminated and now i don't know what to do with
myself! it was amazing to see all of my friends and family there to
support me - thank you so much for being there! i love you all!

EEK! my recital's today!!! 
i am sooo excited!! i have had this date in my head ever since last
spring and it's finally here! wow - what am i going to do with myself
when it's over??!? if you can, you should come! it's at 5pm and it's
only 30 minutes long so you'll be in and out! it's at the wright music

oh yeah - i remember one day for a pep rally lacy, erin and i bought red, white, and blue (respectively) legings and red white a blue boxers to go over them with matching t-shirts. cassie and i (and maybe erin?) also painted jeans in red white and blue puff paint with glitter that said go pats all over them :)

of course! b/c they were prom! i had 2 - junior year i remember getting left at after prom b/c my date went to a party to drink and i didn't do that; my boyfriend at the time was pissed b/c i'd left my phone in my dates car and wasn't answering and i had to call my mom to come pick me up at 6am. senior year i went with chris and all my best friends!

junior year i don't remember, but senior year naima, monica, and i started the electric slide to a song and everybody danced along...it was like a movie! but i don't remember the song :(

Vanderbilt Voice Clinic

so i went to the VVC today to get a 2nd opinion on a tonsilectomy and i'm going to go through with it! except, i think i'm going to cancel my appt for here and do it and vandy. they are just set up better for vocalists. like they have a speech pathologist AND a singing coach to go to for therapy after the surgery - which here has neither.  AND they work with lots of famous vocalists (ok, most are country stars, but they still use their voice for $$!) and so they understand to be very careful.

on another note, the doctor (dr. garrett) said i had a lot of tension in my muscles under my jaw and under my chin (back of tongue) and that's why i talk so low and stuff...so i might start going to the speech pathologist and getting some exercises.  but on that same note, it made me very self concious today in my singing and got me really depressed in the way i sounded. hopefully it's just because i'm tired and my voice is tired. hopefully it'll be better in a week and a half for my recital. maybe i'm not getting enough sleep. ugh i dunno! i just want my recital to be perfect! :( so much pressure!!!!!!!!

today has been mind blowing.  to cut right to the chase, danielle and i
have made a contract for one another to get our lives back on track.
the right track. no more of this bullshit that now consumes our life. 
and i feel good about it.  we have much of the same issues and so we
can hold each other accountable for them.  i have no one else to turn
to, and so i turned to God.  I feel good about this, and hopefully my
heart will begin to heal.  i take that back, i know it will begin to
heal.  please understand that these changes in my life have to be made
because right now my life is too destructive for me personally.  
please don't try to coerce me out of something "just this once" because
i will most likely fall. and i do not want to. i will be victorious and
i will begin to heal.  i know it.  i love you all and want you to know
that. 

i just ran for a straight 11 and 1/2 minutes!!! i've never done that before in my life! the most i've ever ran is 5 and that was just a few weeks ago! i'm so proud of myself!!!!
