RCBA RULES!!!

October 27 2005

Yeah, that's right I said it.

The Rutherford County Blacksmith Association RUUUUUULES!!!

Especially the Murfreesboro branch.

Rachel and I went to Cannonsburgh today [again] to work on our APUSH project [some more].  And there was actually a blacksmith in today.  We talked to him about blacksmith classes and the different projects you can make and all that jazz.  We decided that Blacksmiths are cool.

You know the "World's Largest Cedar Bucket" that used to be right near the entrance to Cannnonsburgh?  You know that an[some] arsonist[s] burned it down this summer, right?  I always thought that the bucket had been totally trashed and they had to get rid of it.  But wait!

It's still there!  It's behind a chain link fence in this little cubby next to the Antique Farm Implements Museum.  It's all charred and the side that's almost completely burned is turned away from the tourists, but it's there!  And there was a little sign talking about the bucket's history and how it was burned down and how some fine gentlemen from the RCBA known as The Brotherhood of the Bucket are going to build an exact replica of the original bucket!

Ooh!  And Rachel and I found out what a soap making ash hopper is.  And how it works.  Because park staff people are just that cool.

Wow.

There has got to be something wrong with you if you have this much fun at Cannonsburgh.

Did I mention that we're going back?

Rachel forgot her camera, so we're going to go back next week re-enact and take pictures of our various Cannonsburgh adventures.

Huzzah for APUSH and the RCBA!
