Uh... Help...

I got my new iMac today.

I love it.

It's beautiful.

But I have no idea how to work it.

Mainly... I can't figrue out how to capture video so I can edit... and that's sort of important.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I have no idea where my video camera's firewire cable is. Can I buy a generic one somewhere to connect my camera and my computer? Apparently my iMac does not recognize my camera via USB.
Also...
Oh crud... I forgot. I have a lot of questions but little answers... please help me, friends...

*EDIT*

I REMEMBERED!
I bought the Apple Care Protection Plan or whatever it's called, but I received no paper work on it, proof that I have it, or anything of that nature, and that scares me. I don't even know how I would contact them if I have a problem...

<B>well if i recall right. . .the usb didnt work on duna's mac either when we went to import video in so we had to use the firewire and as long as its the right size firewire on both ends it will work, and you can just use that program that comes on your iMac called iMovie HD and click the lil camcorder icon in it and then click IMPORT and it will import it and chop it where the diferent tape pauses/fades are and so on. . .so try that out. . .good luck ps. im a PC boi :) (but i dont knock on the mac's, their great computers)

hey, your camera doesn't come with a firewire cable...so get a 4 pin - 6 pin firewire cable (thats what fits the panasonics) they are about $20 at walmart. USB doesn't work for video capture...only for photo capture. Also, applecare doesn't need documentation as the date you are covered until is stored with apple by way of your serial number. Is it not even on your reciept, they are really good about their records. Ask away if you have more...
