so the other night at church was awesome!  that is the most i have ever felt the presence of god in my life.  i decided that im a jerk.  not the funny kind that makes people laugh but the kind that hurts people's feelings so that is something that i need to change.  but  all i can do is just pray about it, because there is nothing that i can do about it for myself.  So if i was ever mean to you then from the bottom of my heart i am seriously sorry.  if i could take it back then trust me i would!

You really have to believe that you aren't a jerk. I think sometimes you take some things too far that people don't understand or take too seriously. You really have matured and I know people have seen that. You're a good person, never let anyone tell you otherwise.

alex, if any person can understand or relate to where you are coming from, you know it's me. i know that sometimes we (used generically for people) can take things a little too far and not realize the effects that it may or does have on another person. The best remedy I can offer is to catch yourself and slowly over time you will begin to change your style of humor and people will not only laugh, but without offense. You have already reached the first step and that is the realization that sometimes you may cross a line. Now you have to feel for that line and you should be able to realize you have approached or crossed it. Hang in there, it takes time. I'm still making that transition. So come aboard!
