London 2012 Logo

20 Euros (it is London, afterall) to anyone that can give me five solid reasons why this design for the 2012 Olympics logo is a good idea...

This is about the worst logo design I have ever seen... and the design firm got $800,000.00 for it... almost 1 million - for that... that. A 5-year-old with construction paper would come up with a similar design.

London reports that they wanted something that did not look corporate and spoke to a younger generation... hmmmm... kind of like kids from the 1990's?

I hear they also got MC Hammer as the Olympic spokesperson.

no good reason... it looks really lame. reminds me of jamaca... better yet, remember the movie cool running... yep... or the 80's... same thing, but i agree, a five year old could come up with this... maybe something even better...

I can give you five solid reasons: Nathan will give Amy money, Nathan will give Amy money, Nathan will give Amy money, Nathan will give Amy money, and Nathan will give Amy money! Ok, just kidding! Anyhow, I don't hate the design, but it definitely doesn't look too good for the OLYMPICS. I agree that it's got that Jamica/80s feel to it.

well, it's edgy, but not too drastic. it's radical, but not too over the top. it's sporty, but not too much like "hey, it's the olympics" and it's definately screaming at me "everyone will barely remember this olympics". even though i'm already planning on going. haha. and, i have to say, if they did get Hammer as the spokesperson, i would.... laugh with hysteria, but deep inside, i would love it. haha

are you kidding me, thats the olypic logo . that is the worst design i have EVER seen, there is nothing exciting about it, and you are rigght it looks 90s and it kinda reminds me of saved by the bell.. it doesnt look "serious" enough for such a huge event.

wow, that's just pathetic. and you know something equally pathetic if not more so? the new army slogan is "army strong". their design firm got paid $2,000,000 dollars for it. is that not nuts?

WOOT! yeah...about that logo...its gotta go. i can find five friends and make one in a week for about 908039454095234 times cheaper. and id give them a discount if they change it, just for getting rid of the old one. What are you up to? Lunch sometime...lol. deja vu?

It's not horrible, but it's defiantly not olypic material, and derinatly not worth THAT much money. Like you said, a five year old with constructionpaper could create that. So a five year old's whimsical disign is worth $800,000.00? That's a little crazy if you ask me. lol.

I could barely tell it said 2012. Personally, ever since the Doctor Who episode where the Olympics took place, I fear London holding the Olympics.
