The Value of Friendship

December 04 2005
Well, I just got back from the fellowship house at church. And I was just thinking...

You never really know how much you need friends until you dont have any. But you know when you meet someone that you automatically can connect with....it just feels like it is from God. Well God has def. blessed my life with some great people. I am starting to really feel at home here in K-town. I am now starting to connect with people and now surrounding myself with strong christain guys. They are helping me in my daily walk with God and picking me up when I fall. I want to encourage all of you to surround yourself with people that will build you up and not break you down. I am finding out that these guys have been through the same things or maybe just now going through the same things that I am at this point in my life.

And just an update on my life for those who want to know. I am finally at the point where I dont wanna date just to date. God has taught me that I dont need a girl to be happy. I am totally happy in Him. When I am ready, God will bless my life with my wife and I will be ready to serve her in the way that I am supposed to. I want to just focus on making friendships that will last a lifetime, and maybe in the process find the most amazing, beautiful, and perfect woman for me that God made in his image.

I hope that yall have a great night.

Later,
JT

November 28 2005
...Life is absolutely amazing...

I have so many reasons to be happy and thankful. I have a great family, a roof over my head, food to eat, great friends (even though I wont see some of them for three weeks), good grades (i think), and I have a God that never forsakes me and never will let me go.

Wow, I dont really know why today is such a great day, but it is. Even though it is raining and nasty outside. I just wanna DANCE around in my boxers.....lol.....(just have to make sure Kyle's not in the room)

I hope all is well in the Boro. I will be back soon. Hopefully I will get to see a few people when I get back home that I did not get to spend time with on this past break i.e. one that I just met

Later,

Hey Guys

November 25 2005
I just got back from Daniel's little party at his house. I had a really good time. I am really enjoying this break.

But, I really wish some people would grow up. Guys (and Gals) we are in college so that means grow up and stop acting like middle schoolers. If you wanna be treated like an adult, act like one....

I just had to get that off my chest. I hope everyone's thanksgiving is going great. Mine is. Have a good weekend. Maybe I will see some of you at church this sunday or maybe just when school lets out for the holidays.

JT

P.S. Just a little note. I really wish that all of the MTSU students would stop dogging on UTK. I am not downing your school, so dont down mine. Yeah we had a bad year, but we have had many good years. You cant win them all. All I have to say is that #27 would is going to run all over anyone who gets in his way these next 4 years.

Some Changes.....

November 18 2005
Well today, I have been totally exhausted. I registered for classes on Thursday, and got a pretty cool schedule. I hope all is well with you guys. I am about to go to the UT vs. ETSU basketball game, where I get to be part of the Power T for the team to run out of. I am so excited.

I hope that the game goes well tomorrow.
I will be home for Thanksgiving, so see yall then. I will have some new tricks with Final Cut Pro, to amaze the masses with.....lol,jk

Have you ever felt....?

October 30 2005
As I sit here on the outdoor amp. at UTK in th cold....which it is beautiful out here....I start to really relax and examine my life. I have been so caught up lately in everything, I have not had time to think. Just bear with me, this will be random and deep.

Sitting here
As I look at the sky,
I start to realize
Just who You are

You were the one
Who put me here
For reasons I dont know
But You know

I look at the sky
And I realize
That I am so small
I just look like a dot

But I am more
Than that to You
I am your prize
as You are mine

Life has taken some drastic changes here lately for me, and I know that it is for a reason. For anyone that knows me, I may not be clean and tidy, but I am organized and love to have things planned out. Yet, I sit here now knowing nothing, but I feel very secure. I dont know where my life is going, yet I am calm. I dont know what my career will be, I dont know what I will do in college, even though I thought that I did. I just sit here and think about how You are with me, and I am not worried. Not worried about what the future will hold, nor what will happen next, because I KNOW that You are with me, guiding me through this thing that I call life.

I just sit here and think about what I could do that would bless you and your kingdom, not what I THINK will make me happy. I am starting to realize that i need to obey your commands, not my own. I need to start listening to You and not this thing that I thought was you in my mind. I need to focus on you. You are the One, the Alpha and Omega, and the One that is here with me now.

And I sit here now, looking at this view, knowing that You are the One, the One that made it, designed it, and live through it. You are bigger than anything, yet so caring you are with me to help me in my small problems, and aspects of my life.

Have you ever felt.....? I am right now......

Hey Guys

October 25 2005
I just want to say thanks to Nathan for fixing the problem with the blog manager for Safari users.

I had an awesome trip over fall break. I know that it has been a while but I couldn't use phusebox because I was on safari. The trip was great. The Alabama group ended up roofing and doing carpentry work on 5 houses, totalilng over $20,000. That is only possible because of the grace of God. I also wanted to tell you guys that I made a video of the trip. I have many copies so if you want one, just leave a comment.

I also have some other things that have been on my mind lately. Just to let those who don't know, I gave my heart fully to the Lord Jesus Christ during Big Stuf this past summer, and now I plan on getting baptised at Calvary Baptist Church in Knoxville soon. I will let all of yall know the exact day, as soon as I find out. I think that Justin and Amy are comming up that sunday to k-town, so if you wanna come just call them. I would love to see you guys and show you are my new home.

I am trying right now to go on a couple mission trip this next year. The biggest one is with Calvary over Spring Break. We will be going to Trinadad, to help spread the gospel and help out local churches in their effort. I will know soon, if I am able to go. Please be praying for me and the trip itself. I will update soon.

I hope everything is well.

I am leaving tommarow....

October 11 2005
I have been thinking alot lately about this week and the reason that I am going. I am so excited about going, and I know that there is a reason that I am going. I am going to miss everyone terribly but I think that this is what I am supposed to be doing. I finished training tonight at the BCM on disaster relief and I am now part of the Disaster Relief Team of Tn under the SBC. I think that I am going to continue training, and do work when other things happen.

Just let anybody know that was wondering, I found out that Lisa is going on the trip also, but is going to Miss. insteed of Alabama like I am. I am really happy about this, because I know that she is there for a reason also. She and I are going to the Walmart tommarow then heading over to Central Beaden Baptist to leave. I will be back on sunday around 4 or 5 pm.

I am super excited, not only about the trip but I also get to make a video of the conditions and the work we will do down there. I will make a copy for anyone that wants one.

****Very Important.....I wanted to see if anyone out there would pray for me while I am on this trip from Wednesday to Sunday. and for the group that I am going with. This place that we are going needs to hear about our Lord Jesus Christ. Please also pray for the people that we are going to come in contact with while down there. Thank you....in advance, you are making more of a difference than you think.

Love in Him,
Jason

I have been think alot lately about life. Have you ever just felt like blaaa and just wanted to be alone but in the same respect i wanna get out and do something. I went to a coffee shop tonight to study with Lisa and Ann, her friend now mine too. We had alot of fun and then got bored studying. We then proceeded to the amp. next to the Arts and Humanities building. I was acting stupid, just dancing and singing. Being me.....i felt so alive. I just don't know what is is lately I can be having a blaa day until I see her, and then I am full of energy. But hey, dont take this as a sappy love story, I may like the girl but I will not let it block my one true love....Him. I have been thinking about that alot lately. I realize now that if I focus on Him then He will show me who I am meant to be with. I just hope that she knows this and does not think that I am just another guy....I dont know....I dont even know if this makes any sense.....

We went to the Smoothie King and just talked for a long time, while walking around campus and in her dorm. I am so blessed to have her in my life, she is so strong in her faith and is an great example for me. But there is just something about her that I just can't get over.....I dont know, but I know that God does!

Other than that and studying for my classes and all of those exams, I dont get to do much else. So keep it real, I hope yall are doing freakishly awesome, just as I am...

....My random life at UTK. I love it here!!!

Lonely weekend

September 16 2005
Hey guys,

I just thought that I would type a little blog for yall....I am sitting in the library and thought about you guys. I am going to have a weird weekend because both my roommate and suitemates are going home. Nick and Elvis left earlier and Kyle is leaving soon. I am going to Kentucky tommarow morning to see "my" raider team compete and I will get to see my father. I think that it will be fun. I will be back in K-town tommarow around 4 or 5 cause I can't miss the UT v. Florida game. This is like the biggest game of the season for us. I hope that we play like National Champions and beat florida so that we will be National Champs at the Rose Bowl.

Just to let the people that actually read this know, I got my letter of acceptance into Dance Marathon Morale commitee. Dance Marathon is a 24 hour event on campus in the spring where people dance to raise money for East TN Children's Hospital. I am on the Morale commitee, so I will be helping to plan it and keep the dancers motivated on the day of the event.

I also got asked back for my 2nd interview with Freshman Council with UTSGA. I hope that interview goes good so that I can be a member of that organization. Hopefully I will. Well I am about to finish up my english paper for monday, because I wont have time on Sunday because of church, practice for wednesday's mission explosion at a local youth group, which I am doing the sound and video, and finally the Clement Hall Residents Association is putting on an event to kick of the first year...

Well I better get to work on that paper.

Ahola!

September 13 2005
Well today has been cool so far. I woke up this morning to go eat breakfast with one of my friends from church. I think that he will become one of my accountability partners.

I went to my Freshman Council interview this morning too. I think that I did good. We will know on friday at noon, if we get asked back for a second interview. I also applied to be part of the Knoxville UT Student Advisory Board. It is really cool because we will be meeting with the mayor of K-town to speak with him on matters concerning the development of the city and matters that concern UT students.

I was reminded this week that God will provide for you if you ask for Him to...this week has been really wierd because I am not sure if I would classify it as a good week. I was a little lonely at first not really having anyone to talk to about things that are relevant to my life. But I ask God to provide me with someone and He has. He brought me to people that are helping me in ways that they don't even know yet.

I don't have much else to say, so I will talk to you later...

Peace,
Jason

Hey Guys

September 10 2005

I am sitting here in my dorm room and just decided that I would let you guys know whats going on. I got back today from a church retreat with Calvary Baptist Church. We left yesterday and went to Camp Carson, somewhere near Newport,Tn.

It was amazing....I met so many awesome people and I got some things straight with God that had been bothering me. It is so cool that when you get down in life and feel so alone, God will provide for you. I had a horible day on Friday and had to force myself to go on the retreat last night. I am so glad that I went.

On a side note, I broke my finger on the retreat during a game that we played. This guy named Wes went for the same "ball" that I did and he hit my right ring finger. The joint right above my knuckle bent all the way back, and I think that it broke. It is all black, blue, and really swollen. But oh well, it will remind me of the awesome weekend that I had.

I am so glad that God lead me to Calvary Baptist. It is such a great place. In the morning, I am going to start working on the tech team, playing with the sound and mostly video. I think that it is going to be really good for me. * I am going to convert them to MACS* -dont tell them.....Lol

Well I hope that everyone is doing good and that nobody is getting into any trouble down there.

P.S. I won the lottery for student tickets to LSU on the 24th, so I am really happy about that, watch for me on TV....

P.S.S- Can somebody get me the information for China this Christmas? I really think that God is wanting me to go. You can mail the information or any mail that you want to me at:

It is alot of fun being out on my own.

I hope that everyone is having a great time in the Boro...

No Peeking Yet.....

God wants us to be 100% dependent on him at ALL times, not just at church or at the bumps in our lives..whatever the severity of that bump is...

When I start to think about the things that I have been through in my life, I start to think about the times that I have really given 100% of me to HIM. I know that I can't count that on one hand... It is just really hard to devote yourself to HIM, because as humans we like to think that we can control what happens in our lifes.

I love the word control, because when we think that we have something under control... DO WE REALLY???? The only ONE that can have everything under control and know what is going to happen is the ONE that I call Father, Daddie, and Savior.

But sometimes we as humans think that we can have things under control, we think that we can be able to take anything that is thrown at us...

We CAN"T.... If we really and truly give 100% of ourselves back to our Creator, we will have the burden of live taken off of our shoulders and always have someone that wants to listen to us, when we are acting stupid, being sad or angry, or anything. Just rely on Him for strength and he will always be there to give it to you. All we really need is HIM

I leave you with one thought....

Does He have 100% of you???

August 03 2005
Well I think that I have finally caught up on my sleep. I slept until 2 pm today. I am off to church tonight, then going to hang out with Ashley and Rachel.

I have finally realized that God is not just involved in the bigger things in life. He really cares about the little things that we think are insignificant. God has blessed my life so much and there is no way that I ever could repay Him for that.

I leave for K-town on the 20th which is just right around the corner. I have been getting all of my stuff together and buying the new things that I need.

Well, I have to finish up the laundry and such, so I will talk later...
