the sunset is actually more amazing if you think about it NOT being from god. really.

I'll try hard not to go into too great a depth concerning what I'm about to relate to you. As mentioned above, seeing that sunset is more amazing to me in the absence of a god, than having been created by one. I'll start first with why it is NOT amazing that a god would have created it.
***
I assume here that in discussing creation we are refering to the Judeo-Christian diety Yahweh, and the account of his creation of the universe in Genesis. He creates this universe, including stars, planets, Earth, vegetation, animals, and sentient life in a span of six days. On the seventh day he rests. We have no account of HOW he does this, save by his infinite power and wisdom. Yahweh makes the sun, he makes it set on the ocean, he makes man with the ability to view such a scene. Yawn.

Compare the above with the accepted scientific explaination of the way in which you witness this sunset. First, the universe, all of the atoms in it, are scattered from a singularity. This means that, due to the inherant force of gravity, all the material that makes up the realm of our experience was packed into an infinitely small singular particle. The Big Bang is the nomenclature assigned to the phenomena of the dispersion of this singularity, in which the particle was thrust a million-fold into space. Over billions of years these scattered particles consolidated to form gases, liquids, and solids. At some point some of this material, through the hand of gravity, consolidated further and began to heat again rather than to cool, due to their own proximity to each other. As the particles drew nigh to each other, their proximity grew until nuclear fusion became possible. At this point, from a swirling cloud of gas and dust, the first star was born. In the immense gravity of this new entity, more particles swirled and consolidated into less massive objects such as asteroids or planets. Millions of these "solar systems" were drawn also to each other due to gravity and formed galaxies, and even larger, super-galaxies, and even larger, galaxy clusters. On the edge of a particular average galaxy, around a particular average star, and on a particluar average planet something quite extraordinary began to happen. The hostile atmosphere of this planet, caused by volcanic eruptions of carbon gas, began to subside because of its own cyclic action. The gas condensated in the atmosphere and precipitated back to earth in liquid form. Oceans spread across the scorched land, cooling it. Rivers and streams formed from the runoff of mountains, speeding the process. At some point, probably around 2 billion years ago, the Earth reached a kind of equilibrium in its climatic story. Through the work of a process yet unknown to us (though we have some very good ideas still!) the first tiny living creature was spawned in the midst of this watery world. It was a small organism, more primitive than even a single cell. Yet it was self sustaining and self replicating. Through the process know as natural selection, the reproductions of this organism, many many generations since, developed into slightly different organisms. From this first came bacteria, protists, the first water living, photosynthetic plants, the first swimming creatures. From them, Trees, vines, fish, amphibians, reptiles, mammals, primates, YOU.

In this drama we have an explaination of the setting of the sun over the ocean, and also your ability to view it and assign meaning. I could go into the evolutionary development of both the human eye and the human brain, which allow these last things, but I'll leave that for your own research. In any case, I think I can say with great confidence that the epic story revealing the quality of this sunset is far more amazing than the small utterance of some diety.

First off, this goes to Mrs. Karissa Krapf ^. First of all what Internet source did u copy and paste that from ??? And all of that, that u wrote is just some scientific reasoning to not believe that God is real. That's why in the bible they speak of FAITH and it is clear that you don't believe in it. God gives us choice to believe, and speak our own opinion, but Garrett was just speaking his.
This is taken from the Life Application bible. There we sited it for you thanks to millions of research papers lol:
" The bible doesn’t discuss the subject of evolution. Rather, its worldview assumes God created the world. The biblical view of creation isn't in conflict with science; rather, it is in conflict with any worldview that starts without a creator. Equally committed and sincere Christians have struggled with the subject of beginnings and come to differing conclusions. This, of course, is to be expected because the evidence is very old and, due to the ravages of the ages, quite fragmented. Students of the bible and of science shouldn't avoid polarizations and black/white thinking. Students of the bible must be careful not to make the bible say what it doesn’t say, and students of science must not make science say what it doesn't say. The most important aspect of the continuing discussion isn't the process of the creation but the ORIGIN of creation. The world isn't a product of blind chance and probability; God created it. The bible not only tells us that the world was created by God; more important, it tells us who this God is. It reveals Gods personality, his character, and his plan for creation. It also reveals Gods deepest desires: To relate to the fellowship with the people he created. God took the ultimate step toward fellowship with us through his historic visit to this planet in the person of his son, Jesus Christ. We can know this God who created this universe in a very personal way. The heavens and the earth are here. We are here. God created all we see in experience. The book of Genesis begins, "God created the heavens and the earth."
OK so yeh that was some info for ya.
Anyway so yeh that is why we, as Christians, have once again FAITH. We can all sit around and wonder and think of some scientific way and even question how we were put on this earth, or how it was created. But we could never come to a complete understanding of how the earth was formed. God allows man to make choices and to believe what he wants to believe. With all the "scientific theories" that you just listed ^ have done nothing to help you further understand the creation of this wonderful world. So that is why religions are part of people’s lives. It’s something to help us understand the ways of earth, and just about everything. In our religion we can believe that God did create that beautiful sunset that is in that picture. Do u actually think that a piece of bacteria could make a human, we don’t think so. As soon as you find a scientist that can turn a piece of bacteria into a human being, please tell us. Or what website you might find it on. But for now, we believe that God created man, Adam and Eve. Are u familiar with that story ??? Cause we could break that down for ya. We challenge you to pick up the holy bible and read what it has to say about creation. There are written documents, aka the bible, to prove the history of what happened and how the Earth was created, and we are sure with all the scientific theories you have no written documents that can prove any of it that far back. Hmm the dates are 1450 to 1410 BC. What are your dates for your documents of your scientific theory? Please tell us, we would like to know. What it all boils down to is whether you believe it or not. You can choose to believe that bacteria formed trees and humans, but instead of having to complicate things with the scientific reasoning that has no written proof of it being real we can look at the sunset and think of how are wonderful heavenly Father created the sunset for man to enjoy on Earth.
In him,

First of all, I think you should know all of that came out of my head. It is from WRITING that I have read and researched and learned. I absorbed all of it enough to explain those things above. It is disrespectful to say that I copied when you do not know. You should not assume such things. Second, I was a Christian for 12 years- an ardent one at that. I was a leader in Belle Aire's Youth Praise Band for 2 of those years. I came away from Christianity over a period of 4 years after much thorough research and reasoning. I know plenty about the creation story and have thoroughly researched its origins and background so as to know who wrote it, when it was written, any contradictions, etc. In your comment, you stated that we can believe the Bible because it is written proof. That is what I always thought until I realized somewhere along the way that anyone can write anything down that they want to. I could write a creation story, and it could be excepted by some people as fact. Actually, there are tons of creation stories out there, many that pre-date the Bible. They are written down. So what would make those different from the Bible? According to what you said, it is because the Bible is written down that makes it proof. I just wanted you to think about that statement. The only thing that makes the Bible "true" is on an individual basis ,and it is due to a person's experience of what they deem to be a god. Usually this is also influenced by what the person is raised in because they will be most likely to attribute the experience to whatever religion they have been exposed to. I think it is important for all people to consider what they believe and question it. That is what I did while I was a Christian. I always kept an open mind to teaching and listened to my own reason as well. I have come to where I am today by those things. I have experienced Christianity deeply and personally, but it was not something that continued to make sense as I grew and learned more about the world. I understand that for some people, Christianity is a fine explanation for everything around them even though it wasn't for me. I am always trying to find what is true and Christianity deviated from that at some point in my life. This comment was not at all to bash the religion, and I apologize if it came across that way. I simply stated that I thought the scientific explanation for the sunset and our existence is more interesting and sensical than a belief that a diety we really don't know anything factual about (because there are so many different ideas of what god is) speaking it into being. I was asked by Garrett why I would say that and that is the reason I elaborated. It was only to share the thoughts I have on the matter. Again, I am sorry for any disruption as it was meant to be an academic discussion. I am a loving person and do not wish to create problems. I would hope, as Christians, you all would be trying to acheive the same goal of love and tolerance, but I question that after reading your response. Simply signing off "in Him" does not make the sarcastic tone of your comment Christ-like. I think that if anyone is going to believe and be about something, then they should be. That is why I so ardently sought the truth and changed what I believed so I could be about what I felt was right. No matter what religion you are, I challenge you to do the same.
