I feel like being a nerd right now...... ok I LOVE the way nebulas look. This is my favorite one called the "Eagle Nebula" or "pillars of birth" This thing is SO frickin' huge, it's one light year long, or 60,000 times the distance between earth and the sun. The reason why it's called 'pillars of birth' or 'eagle nebula' is because at the top of these pillars (you can tell on the largest one) are stars being born. The tops were dubbed "eagle nests" and the stars are shaped like eggs........... ok, my dork moment is over, I just thought this thing is gorgeous. It's hard to comprehend how big this thing is...... 60, 000 times the distance between earth and the sun!
