I have learned that they are both equally painful. Either way your are stuck not being able to do anything tangible to help and you end up feeling like crap. But where we have limits in what we can do, God is limitless.

i know the feeling. I've decided that it's worse to simply know you can't do anything. because once you've excepted that, it leaves you speachless....that and the fact that sometimes we aren't meant to say anything we were brought to certain people just to pray for them and be there if they ever need to talk.
