Hello Hello-Hola!

November 17 2005
I am going to see U2 in Altanta this weekend with Matt and Elizabeth!  I am sooo excited!  Has anyone else seen them on the Vertigo tour?  They are flippin sweet!  Haha-that was a tad cheesy, but oh well.  Going to bed now.  Everyone feel sorry for my brother with his dial-up.  For those of you who know Nathan, you know how bad that is for him...it's like his worst nightmere!
P.S. I have a major craving for mexican food right now! : )~

Lots of Pictures

October 28 2005
Grrr...I just tried to post something and when I did, it gave me an error message.  I clicked the back button expecting my post to still be there, but it was gone.  Sad.  Anyways, all it said was that I have been cleaning my desk area tonight and as I have I have uploaded many pictures to my computer and to Phusebox.  I am still  not done, but it is way past my bed time!  But, I want to leave you with a few of my favorites...hope you like them.

Hahaha-I am still laughing.  This ladies and gentlemen is the fun you can have with a rollaway bed at a hotel, especially if it is straped to the wall!I have a funny brother and we like to laugh.  Hope those made you laugh as well. :)
Good Night Moon

Very Odd...

Does anyone else find this a little disturbing?  We all knew Nathan liked Callie, but I think he is taking it a little too far :)

Fun Weekend

October 16 2005
So, it's fall break, Matt has been off work, and Jonathan and my dad were both at home.  These things all equal an extra fun weekend.  Friday Matt and I went to Fall Creek Falls.  Matt popped Phish into the CD player as we were leaving and said that it was good mood music for our drive.  I have never listened to Phish before, but it wasn't so bad.  I then asked him to put Nickel Creek in, which I thought was good mood music for the drive.  Once there, we hiked down to the bottom of the big waterfall and then hiked along the creek which involved climbing up and under some pretty big rocks.  We followed the creek until it ended, but could hear water flowing up ahead, so we kept going.  We found another creek flowing perp. to us and made our way across it.  We then climbed a huge rock and sat on it to eat our lunch which Matt had prepared before we left.  We had turkey and cheese wraps with apples and fruit snacks, very good.  We then almost got lost trying to find our way back.  Afterwards we hiked back up to the top of the big waterfall.  Anyone who has ever been to Fall Creek Falls knows that this is the hardest part.  Matt and I went there about 3 years ago and I was huffing and puffing and had to stop once or twice.  This time we climbed all the way to the top without stopping and it really wasn't that bad.  I guess a little bit of working out goes a long way!  We then went to the smaller waterfall and played in it for a bit before taking off.  Matt got bored on the way home, so he decided to entertain himself by yelling at the animals we passed.  Now, normal people who see a cow would moo, but Matt decided to actually yell, "Excuse me, Hey you, cow, look over here."  Amazingly, there were several cows that would stop eating grass and quickly look up to see who was talking to them.  It was the funniest thing ever.  He did it with horses, peacocks, chickens, dogs, and even a few humans.  What a funny boyfriend I have.  He entertained us for the whole ride home.  After we got back we made Boca burgers and fries and Jonathan came over to eat with us.  While we were cooking, Matt and Jonathan decided to watch a video made by Arnold Swartsignager (I have no clue how to spell that!) on pumping iron.  Matt was telling Jonathan how much protein the burgers had in them and now they are both obsessed with protein. After dinner we went to Seigal's homecoming game to see Sarah dance.  We got there during half-time and sat in the stands with her during the 3rd quarter.  Seigal scored and Jonathan and Matt went nuts.  When they made the extra point they stood up and yelled, "In the world of stars, you are a supernova."  Their yells were met with laughs and a few strange looks.  When Sarah was dancing during the 4th quarter they stood in front of the dance team and sang "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star."  It was quite funny.  After the game we went to Starbucks for a bit.  Last night we (parents included) went to a Corn Maze in Spring Hill.  It was designed to be a picture of Lewis and Clark.  We split up to see who could make it out the fastest.  Jonathan, Matt and I won.  After the corn maze we went to Steak and Shake.  Today we went to church and then ate lunch over here.  As I said earlier, Jonathan and Matt are now obsessed with protein and getting buff, so they have been eating many eggs and working out.  They just left to go to Matt's and drink protein shakes.  Have you ever had a protein shake?  If not, don't try it.  My experience with them has not been good.  Anyways, hope your weekend has been as fun-filled as mine.  I have something else fun planned for tomorrow, but will save that for another entry.
Oh, and as I was talking to Sarah last ngiht I realized that she has never been to the homecoming dance before.  This shocked me because when I was in high school everyone went to the dance.  So, my question is, did you go to your homecoming dance?  What are your thoughts on this topic?

U2

October 06 2005
Hello, hello! (sung as Bono-like as possible) So did anyone else watch U2 on Conan tonight? And if so, did you see Lane Wood in the background of the shot where Conan is talking to a fellow street camper? How cool it must be to live in New York City and get to do things like that. I watched the show with Matt and we were both immensly jealous!

Tech advice...

September 07 2005
So, I am thinking about either getting replay TV or Tivo. Does anyone have one? If so, do you like it? Do you like the service? I was leaning more towards replay TV, but I read some reviews saying their customer service blows. So, any advice on the subject would be great.
I am also looking for a jump/thump drive. I was wanting a 1 GB, but I saw some on ebay that are 60GB and are only like $20-30 more than the 1GB. They are small(probably a little bigger than a cell phone) and would fit in a pocket or purse. I don't know much about these, or even if it would be worth it, so if there is an expect on external memory, let me know.
Hope everyone is having a good day! I realized yesterday that every minute that passes can never be captured again. Crazy, huh? Make the most of it.

Roadtrip to Chattanooga

August 20 2005
So, let me tell you...I had a perfect night. Matt and I decided to go out on a "real" date. I told him to plan it. So, he picked me up and we drove to Chattanooga. We were going to eat at a restaurant on the river, but we couldn't find it, so we went to a place called 212 Market (I think thats the name). I ate the filet mignon (I don't usually order somthing that expensive, but I splurged) and let me tell you, it was fabulous. Every bite I had made me smile. It was served with garlic whipped potatoes and fire grilled vegetables (mushrooms, summer squash, zucchani, etc.) It was awesome. Then we went and walked down these stairs that had water flowing over them. It is kinda like a mini concrete water park. There were kids playing on them. Then we walked barefoot through the grass down by the river until we found a perfect spot to lay in the grass and look at the starts. We talked about the stars and the ability to fly amongst other things. We finaly decided we had to head back because we have church in the morning. We rode the whole way there and back without music so we could talk and we had amazing conversations. It was a great night, and so needed. It is so important to take time to spend with your significnt other...time away from the hustle and the bustle of everyday life where you can talk and just enjoy each other's company. It's important for girls (at least for me) to feel like your significant other wants to spend time with you, so much so that he will take a night to take you out and plan things he knows you will enjoy. I just wanted to share that with each of you and to encourage all of you guys to go out of your way to make the woman in your life feel special.
On another note, I know today is the one year anniversary of Bruce's death. I did not know Bruce very well, but I know he was an amazing guy. I know today has been hard for many of you and I just want you to know that I prayed for you (not by name, but for those who were close to Bruce)
Love you all

So, I am reading Captivating by Staci and John Eldridge. If you haven't read it, you should...both girls and guys. It will give you a lot of insight. I am always looking for good books to read, so if anyone else has a suggestion, pass it on. Hope you are all having a great day! Nathan, I miss you buddy.

I'm leaving on a jet plane, or a church van.....

July 09 2005
I am leaving in 4 hours to go on a mission trip to East Tennessee. We are having backyard bible clubs for children in a trailer park and an apartment complex. It should be fun. I am excited about what God is going to do. So, I will be away from a computer and phusebox for a week :( I don't know what I will do! J/K-I have survived without a computer and phusebox for many years, so I am sure I can do it now. Anyways, hope everyone has a great week!

Good dads

July 08 2005
So, I have seen three dads today that made me say, "Aw-what a good dad!" The first was at Wal-Mart. There was a dad sitting on the bench inside the store feeding his daughter a bottle. He was looking at her with such love in his eyes and looked totally content to sit there and watch her eat. It sounds a little creepy, but it was really sweet. The second was today on Oprah, which was a re-run with Johnny Depp. He was talking about how his wife and kids were the most important things to him and how watching a woman be a mother is the most beautiful thing in the world. Last, but not least, I was driving through my neighborhood and saw a dad outside helping his daughter stay up in a hand stand. I am sure there are many other things he would have preferred to be doing, but he was taking time to play with his daughter and help her do something that was important to her. I think it is so important for dads to spend quality time with their kids. Too often dads focus on work and think that providing for his family is enough. Although that is great, it is important to take time and do things like play catch, help with hand stands, etc. It is during these times that kids feel loved and make memories they will keep with them for the rest of their lives!
Speaking of great dads, yesterday I was running late for a presentation at school and my dad went and made copies of my presentation for my class and got some coffee for me since I didn't have time to do either. He is awesome! I am lucky!

Word of the Day!!!

July 08 2005
The word of the day is extrapolate...try to use it as many times as possible!

For those of you wondering, here is the definition from dictionary.com...
"To infer or estimate by extending or projecting known information."

I am still not quite sure what it means, I just think it sounds cool!

Sad...

July 06 2005
So this morning I took Nathan and Elizabeth to the airport and I was surprisingly sad when I left. I thought it would be easy to transition into Nathan coming home to visit and leaving to go back to New York, but it was still kinda sad. I am also sad because I am not going to see Elizabeth until like August. I am leaving on Sat before she comes back and will be in East Tenn on a mission trip until the 16th. She is leaving on the 16th to go to the beach and is coming back late on the 21st. I am leaving on the 22nd to go to New York and won't be back until Aug. 2 at the earliest. Crazy. At least we are making the most of summer and traveling! Yea for traveling! Boo for doing it with Independence Air! It is absolutely amazing that Nathan had a flight home today. If the first 4 people I talked to at Independence Air had anyhting to do with it, he would still be sitting in the boro. Luckily, I finally found a girl that wanted to help instead of be a jerk. Yea for Meredith that works in DC! Hope you are all having a good day!

Concerts, Nathan, and more

July 04 2005
Hello...
As Rachael and Elizabeth posted, we went to Ohio on Friday to see Howie Day and Gavin DeGraw. It was a fun trip. I have posted pictues of it, along with my trip to New York to help Nathan move and others. So, check them out! Anyways, back to the concert. Howie was good. Gavin was awesome! He is amazing stage presence and is very captivating. I really enjoyed his show. There were some funny things that happened at the concert, which has inspired me to make a list of the ....
Top 9 Things You Should Do at a Concert if You Want to be Totally uncool...(there wouod be 10, but I could only think of 9!)
9. Wear high heels (It's outside and you are sitting in the grass for crying out loud!)
8. Bring your blanket in and steal someone else's spot
7. Get drunk and fall all over the place
6. Spill alcohol on someone else's blanket
5. Run through the grass and trample everyone's blankets
4. Dance like a baby in a boucy chair
3. Make out with your boy/girl friend so much that you have people yelling at you to stop
2. Make out with your boy/girl friend period
1. Squeel at the top of your lungs and run like a crazy person towards the singer when he comes out into the audience
Yeah...all of these things happened. It was still fun in the end though. Plus, we found a 24 hour starbucks and a gas station with sandwiches! And a gas station attendant that started to chase us down because he thought we were going to drive off without paying when in reality Elizabeth was driving me around to pay. Fun fun. Then we had a nice 6 hour drive home. We didn't get home until 5 AM. Brutal. At least I didn't have to work the next day like Elizabeth!
I also wanted to say that I am glad my brother is home. Yea for Nathan! I wish he could stay longer, but you gotta do what you gotta do. We have had fun hanging out today-kinda like old times.
Last, but not least, I wanted to thank Elizabeth for being a great friend. Not only does she write nice blogs about me, but she gives me awesome birthday presents and lends me money when I am an idiot and go to GAP for like the 18th time in the past 2 weeks and spend all of my own money. She rocks and I am lucky to have her.
It's late. I am going to bed.

Thoughts...

June 25 2005
I never know what to write on this thing. I like reading other people's blogs, but think no one will want to read mine. Oh well. Here is it anyway.
Last night Elizabeth and I went to the movies (For the 4th time in the past week!) I walked outside and was overwhelmed by the summer night. You know-the warm breeze, the smell of summer...perfect night to ride around with your windows open. I have been doing that a lot lately. Every winter I long for summer so I can ride with my windows down. Then usually, summer comes and I am hot and ride with my windows up and the air on. Well, not this summer! I am enjoying every minute of it. Have you guys seen the moon for like the past week? It has been full or mostly full and an orangish/red color. It is amazing and a reminder of how awesome God is. He created the moon. He created the seasons. He created me and understands why I love summer nights. How awesome is that?! So, this is your public service announcement reminding you to enjoy summer. Ride with your windows down. Buy a jeep. Drink lemonade. Soak up the sun. Most of all, marvel in the glory God's creation. :)

New York City, center of the universe...

June 09 2005
So, I'm hanging out in Nathan's apartment in NYC. It is amazing, especially compared to other apartments I have been to while here. Nathan is getting used to being here, which is nice to see. I am enjoying getting to spend time with him by myself, and in NY! Tonight we are going out to eat with the Leadership Journey people. Fun fun. Hope everything is going well at home!

Late night blog

June 07 2005
Well, I finally finished uploading photos from Nathan's going away party. I of course did not upload all of them since I took so many, so if there is one I did not upload that you want to see, let me know. Also, if anyone wants me to send an e-mail with one as an attachment, I can do that. I am leaving in a few short hours to go to NYC with my bro. He told us yesterday that no one was going to be able to meet him at the airport. I was sad and decided that that just wouldn't do. So, I purchased a glide pass from Independance Air, fought with the customer service people about flights, thought I was just going for a day, and now I am going for 5. It all worked out well. I will feel better being with Nathan, helping him settle in, get the things he needs, etc. I am staying with Ellie, who I haven't seen for awhile, so I am excited. Gotta go to bed now.
Oh, and in case you were wondering, the guy in my profile pic is the lead singer from Something Corporate. Nathan wanted me to put a profile pic up the day I siged up and I don't really have any of me by myself. I chose that one because I thought Nathan would get a kick out of it. I am planning on changing it soon, but thought I would clue those of you who do not love Something Corporate in on the secret. And if you have never listened to them, you should. Later gators

Blue Icing, E.T. and Ghosts

June 04 2005
Well, for anyone that is till awake at 2:19 waiting to see the pics from tonight, I hocked them up to download them to my computer about 10 mintes ago. Right now it is on pic 212 of 367, so I am going to bed. Not all of those are from tonight, some are from my recent trip to LA and from Memorial Day. When you have almost 400 pics, it takes a while to download. Anyways, hope everyone had fun tonight. For those that left early, you missed a fun rear kicking in Scene It (at least if you were a girl) For those who left after the game, you missed Matt's many impressions of E.T., which still make me laugh so hard I cry. What a great guy he is. You also missed Nathan and Jonathan's ghost story, told with full effects. It was quite funny. I am really going to miss Nathan being here. Tonight I was thinking about how we won't get to see many of his friends after he leaves either, which makes it more sad. So, you guys have to still stop by every once and awhile, ok?!
